The Centre of Excellent Managerial, Economics, Productivity and Society of the Sutaatmadja College of Economics (STIESA) visited PT DAHANA for a sharing session on “Sustainability of the Supply Chain and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)”. STIESA’s 17 students and 2 STIESA supervisors were warmly welcomed by SM Legal and Corporate Communication Juli Jajuli at the PT DAHANA Campus, Subang, on Wednesday, 12 July 2023.
In his remarks, Mr Jajuli briefly presented history of DAHANA which started with the “Menang” project of the Republic of Indonesia Air Force, and developed to become DAHANA today. DAHANA originally had factories and offices in Tasikmalaya. Owing to a couple of considerations, especially a matter of safe radius from settlements, DAHANA moved to Subang and occupied a land area of nearly 600 hectares.
“In Subang, we set up various kinds of explosives facilities, from factories to warehouses, and is currently the area with the most complete facilities in ASEAN. Under a decisive environmental commitment, DAHANA’s office building was built with a platinum green building certificate from GBCI,” said Mr Jajuli.
Mr Jajuli claims than in the mining world, DAHANA’s products are very popular with consumers. Armed, with the Total Explosive Solutions service that serves the entire blasting business process, DAHANA is able to steadily compete in the Indonesian mining market. Some of DAHANA’s products are even exported to consumers in the Asia Pacific region.
Above all, Mr Jajuli added, the Company has a commitment not to progress alone. The Company continues to strive to advance and develop with the surrounding community through various programs, especially those managed by the Social and Environmental Responsibility (SER) Unit. For example, DAHANA has succeeded in upgrading several MSE fostered partners in the Regency by helping them penetrate the international market.
“On behalf of the management of PT DAHANA, we welcome to the PT DAHANA Campus. This campus is not a university, but an extension of DAHANA’s Central Management Office. However, the philosophy of the campus remains, because DAHANA Subang often has visitors with various backgrounds studying explosives,” said Mr Jajuli.
Following a presentation at the DAHANA Campus Smart Room, the STIESA students had the opportunity to visit the Energetic Material Center (EMC) area and see firsthand the process of manufacturing explosives at DAHANA’s factory.
